Welcome
Lisa Morris Posey has been a certified teacher for the past seventeen years. She graduated from Texas A&M University in Texarkana. She began her career as a science teacher while she continued to advance her education and earned a Master's degree in 2004. Despite having her original teaching certification from Texas, Lisa made the decision to teach in Arkansas. She wanted to move back to her home town and share her passion for learning with the students and community. It turned out to be the best move for her career and Arkansas quickly became her home again. While in Arkansas, Lisa was a Science Specialist and classroom teacher. She spent time learning about technology and began integrating it into her classroom.
Lisa has spent the last few years working with both K-12 teachers and students in twelve districts as an Instructional Technology Specialist and Instructional Technology Coordinator. She helps school districts improve their technology prowess, implement and maintain new systems and programs for the districts. Lisa assists school districts with projects including professional development, grant writing, program planning, curricular development, evaluation and the integration of technology into instruction relating to technology fields. She strives to help local schools with technology needs to prepare their students for productive careers in college and the workforce, where they must be proficient in technology.
Lisa found that information regarding internet use, laptops, and new computer programs needed to be relayed to teachers; and the teacher's ideas and feedback needed a path back to district office. Lisa became that path. She took surveys to make sure teachers had access to the technology they needed and followed up with the District Technology Coordinators to see what else could be done for the teachers and students. Lisa has worked hard to prepare them for success in the technology world we live in today and the world they will be entering down the road.
Lisa has been involved outside the classroom as STEM leader. She have also coached Project Citizen and Destination Science. Other roles have had include Recycling Program Coordinator, Science Club Sponsor, and 4-H Leader.
